Ski Trip Report

Published on 08/05/20

Here's a belated report on the 2020 HVC Ski Trip to Austria which happened in February, before the lockdown came into place.

The Hope Valley College ski trip was one of the lucky overseas residentials this year, managing to happen just weeks before international travel was stopped. Despite warnings of little snow, Radstadt in Austria looked like a winter wonderland when we arrived. The skiing was fabulous all week with great snow, lots of sunshine and some very cold wind chill! Beyond the great skiing, we took part in traditional Austrian dancing, bowling, swimming (in the outdoors!) a disco (well done kids for putting up with Mr Fitton's dad dancing!) and the now infamous night-time toboggan run. We were also so grateful for the term-time skiing; our ski rep said that one week later, at half-term, there would have been ten times the number of groups skiing! Thanks Miss Astbury for organising such a great trip; let's make sure we keep the tradition going!
