Local Junior Fell Races

Grindleford & Eyam have junior fell races currently open to enter
The Peak District is hilly. We all know that. So it's no surprise that local villages organise a comprehensive calendar of fell races up and down our hills, usually to raise money for good causes. Sadly the pandemic has put a hold on most races, but a few are now evolving with the times and offering virtual races where you can sign up and run the courses, often marked out electronically using apps, and run them in your own time, usually within a set period.
Eyam is currently offering it's Half Marathon and junior cross country routes of 1km, 4.3km or 6km as well as the fell race which is 10km. They cost £6 a child and the money goes to local and cancer charities. It is open until October 25th.
Grindleford has a brand new junior series called the Platypus (don't ask). There are three routes: Under 8s which is 1km, Under 10s which is 1.4km, and Under 12s, 14s and 16s which is 2.5km. Registration is voluntary, with all proceeds going to Grindleford Primary School. It is open until October 11th.
